    From the Vintage Collection

Tones: Warm Khaki, Rust, Dusty Blue, Deep Gray, Olive, Pale Sage

About The Print: This vintage landscape of the edge of an English forest features a home tucked away in the corner of the background, partially obscured by trees. Van Dyck's use of rich colors and his layered watercolor and pen technique creates a soft, impressionistic tone.

From The Artist: Anthony Van Dyck was a Flemish artist who painted in the early 17th century and eventually became the leading court painter in England. His elegant portraits of English aristocracy, especially of King Charles I and his family, led Van Dyck to become the dominant influence on English portrait-painting for the next 150 years. Less than 30 landscape works by Van Dyck are known to exist, all of which are either pen and wash drawings or watercolors, and are believed to have been painted in nature and intended as gifts for his friends.
