About The Print: A modernist watercolor of an Alpine valley featuring soft white clouds touching down on deep blue mountain tops.
About The Artist: Hercules Brabazon Brabazon was a self-taught artist who traveled widely, creating brilliant impromptu watercolors. A wealthy Irish landowner, Brabazon did not publicly show any of his art until the very end of his life, when finally persuaded by John Singer Sargent to publicly display his watercolors for the first time at the New English Art Club in London at age 70. He quickly became very popular among a younger generation of artists for his remarkably modern landscape watercolors, depicting mere suggestions of mountains, sky and water.
