"She takes out her contacts, then she paints."  That is not a true statement but that is her interpretation of abstract painting. Having terrible vision, without correction, she sees only colors, shapes and some depth. Mande paints in that mindset. Her goal is for the viewer to feel and or see her vision without having it be a perfect replica of a place or thing. She takes great pride in imperfection.
